Welcome to Ambleside and District u3a
The Ambleside and District u3a is part of the u3a movement.
Welcome to our u3a! Situated in the heart of the Lake District, we have about 300 members living in Ambleside and Windermere and the surrounding communities, including Bowness, Grasmere, Staveley, Troutbeck and Coniston.

We have a lively membership with diverse interest groups. Click on the Groups button in the menu bar above for a complete list; you can then find out when and where a Group meets and their programme of activities. Members can come to any meeting but should contact the Coordinator before going along to check for any specific requirements or changes to the programme or meeting place.
Monday 11th May - monthly talk: 'Friends of the Lake District'. For details click GENERAL TALKS
WALKING GROUPS IN SPAIN - Photos received. Click here to view.
We hold monthly General Talks with an outside speaker plus tea and biscuits and a chance to chat on the second Monday of the month at the Marchesi Centre, Windermere. Details of the programme for the year ahead can be found on the General Talks page.

The photographs below show some of our current activities. Click on Groups (on the menu above) for a complete list.

We are supported by a national organisation called the Third Age Trust whose aims are:
1. to encourage older people no longer in full-time paid employment to help each other share their knowledge, skills, interests and experience;
2. to demonstrate the benefits and enjoyment to be gained in learning throughout life.
