Constitution and Policies
On this page we link to our constitution and a number of policy documents that address specific issues or problems that may arise as a result of u3a activities. If you have questions about any of the issues here, or any others, contact the secretary using the Contacts tab at the top of this page.
A summary of the Third Age Trust insurance that covers our activities together with a current cover note is included. It is very important to know that our insurance policy does not cover nights spent away, for example on u3a organised holidays at home or abroad. For these separate insurance cover must be arranged or those taking part must have individual cover.
DISCLAIMER:
Ambleside & District u3a members enjoy a wide range of activities. All such activities involve risk. We all need to take individual responsibility for our personal safety and any equipment or possessions. Accidents can happen, no matter how much care is taken. Ambleside & District u3a has its own public liability insurance but it does not provide personal accident insurance.
We must therefore make clear that all participants in any of our groups assume full responsibility in their preparedness for the activity concerned. They must have the right clothing and equipment. They must take care to avoid damage or injury to themselves, others and to others’ property. Ambleside & District u3a and its members will bear no liability for any loss, however it may be caused, save in the case of clear negligence. Participants attend all groups on this basis.
