The Westmorland Orchestra is made up of over 60 dedicated amateur musicians from Cumbria and North Lancashire.  They rehearse weekly in Kendal from September to June and give three or four public concerts a year. In performances of large-scale works, professional musicians augment the orchestra – particularly in the percussion section. They present the full range of the established symphony concert repertoire, and also newer, lesser-known works of the 20th and the 21st century. They support and encourage young musicians embarking on a professional career. This concert will be the first under the leadership of their new Conductor, Helen Harrison.
