The Rockdrops is an informal group that aims to let people enjoy playing music together, mainly from the 1950s through to the 1970s, from Elvis and the Beatles to Neil Diamond. Those who attend typically have some limited experience of playing or singing with others at an intermediate level, having moved past the beginner stage. Members usually make progress in good company by learning new songs from each other, and there is plenty of support and encouragement.
Instruments vary, mainly electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, banjo, drums etc. Another good drummer or keyboard player is always welcome.
Our repertoire is built up by tackling several songs each session, and rehearsing them towards occasional performance level at old people’s homes etc.
The charge varies from £3 to £5 a session depending on numbers attending.
