Coordinators: See under individual groups.
We have four walking groups in our u3a and we hope that any walker is able to find a group suited to their walking ability. You can also freely move between groups as long as you are capable of walking at the appropriate level. The coordinator of each group can provide more information about the level of typical walks. We have occasional walks organised for more than one group.

There is relevant safety information for each group on the separate group pages.
All participants need to be aware that walking in the Cumbrian fells can be dangerous and that the weather often changes at short notice.

You can find out more about each group by clicking on the group title below.
This group takes on strenuous routes with several high peaks in a day, often involving rough terrain or areas without paths.
B walks have up to 800m (2,600 feet) of climbing and are up to 16km (10 miles), taken at a good pace. Between April and October we use the longer days to include some more demanding walks, labelled B+.
C walks have up to 300m (975 feet) of climbing and are usually about 8-12km (5-7.5 miles). Occasionally we have slightly more demanding walks, labelled C+.
D walks are around 7km (4 — 4.5 miles) taken at a leisurely pace.
